summary
Throughout this semester, I have gained a deeper understanding of how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enhances both academic and personal learning. My reflections focus on ICT as an informative, communicative, and constructive tool, supported by practical experiences, one video, and three pictures that demonstrate how these tools were used meaningfully.
Under ICT as an Informative Tool, I explored how digital
platforms like YouTube and Google Scholar have supported my learning. YouTube
helped me visualize complex science topics like cell structure, while Google
Scholar provided access to reliable academic sources for my project on
Bhutanese etiquette. Most notably, I created a video on zebra crossing
awareness, which served as an informative resource to educate the children on
road safety. Alongside this, I included a picture of a YouTube tutorial
screenshot, captioned: "Learning through visual explanations: YouTube
as a multimedia information tool." These two resources, one picture
and one video, demonstrate how ICT supports understanding through accessible,
multimedia formats.
For ICT as a Communicative Tool, I highlighted platforms
like Telegram, Gmail, and Google Docs that enhance collaboration. Through
Telegram, we communicated instantly during group projects, shared files, and
clarified doubts. Google Docs allowed real-time group editing and feedback,
improving teamwork. To represent this, I added a screenshot of a Telegram group
chat, captioned: "Collaborating with classmates on project planning
through Telegram." This picture shows how ICT promotes effective
academic communication.
Lastly, under ICT as a Constructive Tool, I reflected on
using digital tools like Canva and Google Classroom to build and express ideas
creatively. For a project on waste management, I used Canva to design a
visually appealing and informative poster, demonstrating how ICT supports
active learning and content creation. The poster image is captioned: "Using
Canva to construct knowledge on waste management creatively."
Altogether, you can assess three pictures and one video
representing the three categories of ICT use. These artifacts showcase how ICT
tools have made my learning journey more interactive, collaborative, and
meaningful.
