ICT as an informative tool

Throughout this semester, I have learned to appreciate how important is ICT in our academic and personal life. As a student moving through a fast-evolving educational environment, ICT has become more than just a support tool, it has become a critical facilitator of knowledge acquisition, skill development, and personal growth. Whether in conducting research, accessing learning resources, or managing my time and notes, ICT has significantly shaped how I learn and live.

In my academic journey, ICT tools such as Google Scholar, YouTube, slide presentation, and Canvas have been instrumental in supporting and expanding my learning beyond traditional textbooks. For instance, during a challenging research project on a project-based teaching and learning module, I used Google Scholar to access scholarly articles related to Bhutanese etiquette. These articles offered diverse perspectives and real-life insights that significantly deepened my understanding of the topic, making my report more meaningful. Without access to such digital resources, I would have been limited to surface-level content.

Similarly, YouTube has become a go-to platform for me when trying to understand difficult concepts. A notable example was when I had to learn about cell structures and their functions in science. While reading the ppt slides provided basic information, YouTube tutorials offered clear visuals and step-by-step explanations, which helped me retain the knowledge better. I also found video tutorials that guided me through simple science experiments, which enhanced my hands-on understanding and made learning more interactive and engaging.

In addition, tools like the Samsung Notes app have helped me to take class notes, summarize key points, and organize to-do lists, which I can easily refer to anytime. This digital note-taking habit has not only improved my academic efficiency but has also helped me manage personal tasks and goals better. Like whenever I have to do shopping and all I make a list in my Samsung note app which help me to do shopping effectively without forgetting anything.

Overall, the integration of these ICT tools into my learning environment has empowered me to take ownership of my learning, access a wider range of knowledge, and express ideas creatively. As I move forward, I hope to continue exploring and using more ICT tools to enrich both my learning and everyday experiences.

Learning through visual explanations: YouTube as a multimedia information tool.

YouTube is a powerful ICT tool for learning, offering visual and auditory explanations of complex topics. It simplifies challenging concepts across various subjects through tutorials and lectures, catering to different learning styles. The platform encourages self-paced, interactive learning and provides accessible, on-demand content that enhances understanding and engagement, making it a valuable resource for both students and educators.
