Throughout this semester, I have gained a deeper understanding of how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enhances both academic and personal learning. My reflections focus on ICT as an informative, communicative, and constructive tool, supported by practical experiences, one video, and three pictures that demonstrate how these tools were used meaningfully. Under ICT as an Informative Tool, I explored how digital platforms like YouTube and Google Scholar have supported my learning. YouTube helped me visualize complex science topics like cell structure, while Google Scholar provided access to reliable academic sources for my project on Bhutanese etiquette. Most notably, I created a video on zebra crossing awareness, which served as an informative resource to educate the children on road safety. Alongside this, I included a picture of a YouTube tutorial screenshot, captioned: "Learning through visual explanations: YouTube as a multimedia information tool." These ...

ICT as an informative tool

Throughout this semester, I have learned to appreciate how important is ICT in our academic and personal life. As a student moving through a fast-evolving educational environment, ICT has become more than just a support tool, it has become a critical facilitator of knowledge acquisition, skill development, and personal growth. Whether in conducting research, accessing learning resources, or managing my time and notes, ICT has significantly shaped how I learn and live.   In my academic journey, ICT tools such as Google Scholar, YouTube, slide presentation, and Canvas have been instrumental in supporting and expanding my learning beyond traditional textbooks. For instance, during a challenging research project on a project-based teaching and learning module, I used Google Scholar to access scholarly articles related to Bhutanese etiquette. These articles offered diverse perspectives and real-life insights that significantly deepened my understanding of the topic, making my report m...

ICT as Constructive tool

Image
Reflecting on my journey, I realize how tools like websites, blogs, Google Classroom, Cmap Tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) have transformed the way I learn, organize, and interact. ICT can be a powerful constructive tool in education, supporting students in actively building their knowledge and understanding through various digital tools and resources. It enables them to connect new information with prior knowledge, fostering deeper learning and promoting various skills like technological literacy and critical thinking. Academically, ICT has made learning more accessible and engaging. When I first used Google Classroom, it felt like having a personal assistant. Assignments, notes, and feedback were all centralized, making it easier to manage my studies. It also facilitated communication with teachers and classmates, encouraging collaboration and timely discussions. It also helped me to construct knowledge actively. Cmap Tools introduced me to concept mapping, whi...

ICT as Communicative tool

Image
Over the semester, I have come to understand that communication is no longer bound by physical presence or traditional tools. ICT as a communicative tool has transformed how I engage with my peers and tutors. We use software’s to share our opinion, ideas which involves two-way process that are sender and receiver.     Tools like telegram, Gmail, and virtual learning environment (vle) have become integral, especially in academic environment. Group assignments, which earlier required in-person meetups, are now efficiently handled through telegram and collaborative Google Docs. One of the most frequently used tools in my academic communication is telegram. Our class groups serve as immediate platforms to share updates, clarify doubts, and exchange resources. For instance, during a group assignment on Teaching Literacy Skills in Lower Primary, where we needed to make video, we used telegram to assign roles, remind each other of deadlines, and share voice notes for c...
